Dad broke protocol and personally came to Russian embassy in Vatican

Pope Francis took an unusual step in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. On Friday, February 25, he personally went to the Russian Embassy in the Vatican “to express his concern” because of the war in Ukraine.

Reuters notes that this is an unprecedented violation of the diplomatic protocol – usually dad adopts diplomats.

Pontiff spent more than half an hour at the embassy. As TASS writes, Francis is familiar with one of the leading Russian diplomats and repeatedly communicated with him. It is reported that Pope called “to protect children, patients and suffering.”

Earlier, Pontiff repeatedly opposed the invasion of the Russian Federation to Ukraine.
