The Presidential Administration of Syria announced the introduction of a comprehensive ceasefire throughout the country. This is stated in the official statement.
“In order to prevent bloodshed among the Syrian people, as well as in accordance with the state’s national and humanitarian liability, a decision was made on a comprehensive ceasefire,” the statement said.
The Syrian authorities called on all aspects of the conflict to provide state institutions and security forces with the necessary space for the implementation of the regime of silence, stabilizing the situation and cessation of bloodshed.
The statement emphasizes the need for immediate termination of all armed clashes and hostilities, as well as guarantees for the protection of civilians and ensure unhindered access of humanitarian aid.
According to the administration, the Syrian security forces have already begun in a number of regions in order to control the observance of a ceasefire, protect public order and ensure the safety of the population. These measures are aimed at “strengthening calm and stability” in the country.
