Date Of Parliamentary Elections Was Set In Armenia

The next parliamentary elections in Armenia will be held on June 7, 2026. The speaker of the parliament of the Republic Alain Simonyan reported this in his telegram channel.

“Today, June 7th. The next elections to the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia will take place exactly one year later. They will be held on June 7, 2026. The countdown began,” he wrote.

Armenia is a parliamentary republic, the legislative body is elected Prime Minister, who is actually the head of the country. The last parliamentary elections in Armenia were held in 2021.

Meanwhile, the “Honor” faction “has” the National Assembly decided to endure a vote of no confidence to the Prime Minister, nominating the candidacy of the head of the community Masis David Ambartsumyan. According to the Armenian media, this was stated by the leader of the AIK Mamijanyan faction.

Narek Malyan and Edgar Ghazaryan, members of the “We are awake” movement, wrote letters to the deputies of the NS with a proposal to initiate the process of expression of distrust to the Prime Minister. The opposition faction “Honor has” expressed its willingness to initiate this process, emphasizing that it would not put forward a candidate for the post of prime minister and is ready to start discussions around the candidate. Another opposition faction, “Ayan”, questioned this process, emphasizing that it doubts whether its goal is the removal of the government or aiming to the Ayan Block.

Another initiative of the impeachment was nominated by the independent deputies of the National Assembly of the OVIK Agazaryan and the AKOP Aslanyan, nominating the candidacy of Edmon Marukyan, the chairman of the Enlightened Armenia party.
