The death toll from landslides caused by heavy rains on the Indonesian island of Java has risen to 30. In addition, 21 people are missing and the search continues, The Jakarta Post reported, citing Indonesian authorities who issued a statement regarding landslides that occurred in the Cilacap and Banjarnegara districts of Central Java due to heavy rains.
Authorities noted that the depth of the rubble in some areas exceeds 10 meters, which significantly complicates search and rescue efforts.
Earlier, on November 14, Indonesia’s National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB) reported that due to heavy rains and landslides in Central Java, more than 90 people were forced to flee their homes.
