Ministers of Defense of Russia and Kyrgyzstan Andrei Belousov and Baktybek Bekbolotov discussed issues of bilateral military and military-technical cooperation. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on Saturday, May 10

“I am very glad of our meeting with you. You said very accurately yesterday that we are all children of the same family called the Soviet people. And this family interrupted the ridge of fascism,” said the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The head of the Russian military department noted that Lieutenant General Baktybek Bekbolotov at one time commanded the Panfilov division formed in Kazakhstan. “In this regard, our common story is very intertwined,” he stressed.

In turn, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan noted that “our grandfathers hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder mined the great victory of the great country, the great people”.

“Of course, there are a lot of opponents of this victory who are trying to rewrite it. I, as a descendant of a warrior, and my grandfather from Stalingrad to Koenigsberg has passed, I think that we are obliged to cherish this victory, this day,” Bekbolotov said.
