Deficit of smartphones is predicted

Restricting the supply of processors for electronics will continue in 2022, which will affect the deficit of gadgets. It is reported by “Lenta.ru” with reference to the publication of Gadgets 360.

Representatives of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC) stated that they are doing everything possible to increase the performance of their factories. The world’s largest microcircuit manufacturer told that it expands the capacity and is working to maintain reasonable prices for its products.

A similar measure was taken due to the fact that the company expects preservation of the shortage in the semiconductor market. Analysts of the Corporation predict that the lack of processors will continue in 2022. Previously, the forecast expressed the head of Intel Pat Gelsinger, who predicted that the deficit would last for at least a couple of years.

The deficit of processors is associated with the lack of gadgets, ranging from smartphones and ending with cars. In particular, TSMC predicts from the next quarter an acute shortage of components for the production of electric cars.

At the same time, the company noted a good financial situation. Due to the deficit and a huge number of orders in the first quarter, the profit growth exceeded the market expectations and amounted to 19.4 percent. Net profit of TSMC for January-March amounted to 4.93 billion dollars compared with an average of $ 4.72 billion. TSMC is an Apple partner and other electronics manufacturers.
