Delegation of Turkish parliament visited Chekhids alley in Baku

The delegation led by the Chairman of the Committee on External Relations of the Great National Assembly of Turkey (VSST) Fuatom Octai on July 18 visited the grave of the former president, the national leader Heydar Aliyev in the Honorary Burial Avenue and the Alley of the Shehids.

The delegation first arrived at the Honorary Burial Alley, where the memory of the national leader Heydar Aliyev had honored, laid flowers to his grave.

The members of the delegation also visited the Chekhids alley, where they respected the memory of the heroic sons of the Motherland, who gave their lives in the struggle for freedom and sovereignty of the country, laid flowers on their graves.

Then the delegation visited the monument in the Alley of the Shehids, erected in memory of the heroic Turkish warriors who died in battles for the liberation of Baku from the Bolshevik-Dashnak formations in 1918.

Having emphasized that the monument erected in memory of the Turkish warriors is the greatest symbol of the Brotherhood of Turkey and Azerbaijan, Fuat Oktai said that the Turkish Shahids, who found a rest in this holy place, fought against the enemies with their Azerbaijani brothers as the brave soldiers of the Caucasus Islamic army and paved the way for immortality in the hearts of everyone.

It was emphasized that the joint struggle for the land, for which they have exalted to the top of Shechidism, demonstrates that Turkey and Azerbaijan are one nation, two states. “Azerbaijanis were also next to us during the battle of Chanackala and fought heroically. The heroism and dedication shown a century ago also repeated during the 44 -day war of Azerbaijan for justice. These factors forever tied us with each other,” he said.

Then prayers were read for the repose of the souls of the Shehids.
