Deputies from Azerbaijan said elections in Turkey transparent and democratic

The election of the president and parliament of the 28th convocation of Turkey was democratic and transparent. This was stated by deputies of the Milli Majlis (parliament) of Azerbaijan, who participated in the election monitoring on May 14 as part of international observers from the organization of the Turkic states (OTG) and the parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic states (Turkpa).

The head of the delegation of observers of the Turkp, the chairman of the inter-parliamentary friendship group Turkey Azerbaijan Akhliman Amiralov told Anadol about the visit to the polling stations in Ankara.

“The elections were organized at a high level. We observed a high turnout of voters, visited electoral points from the moment of opening to the closure. Turkey was well prepared for these elections. The vote took place in a democratic situation,” he said.

Amiramasnov said that on the day of the election he communicated with many voters. “I can confidently say that the elections were transparent and democratically in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Turkey and international election standards. I am sure that the president will be organized in a similar way,” the parliamentarian noted.

MP Javanshir Faziev from the delegation of OBG observers watched the voting process in Istanbul.

“The elections were organized in accordance with all legal norms. Everything was done for the convenience, safety and calm of the electoral process. We saw that voters also believe in the safety of electoral urns. We became witnesses to a positive dialogue between representatives of different political forces. This testifies to a high level of political maturity. On May 14, all accusations of violations of human rights and authoritarian board in Turkey crashed, ”Faziev emphasized.

Observer OSG Shahin Ismailov noted that on the day of the election no negative case was recorded.

According to him, the turnout was high, which indicates the faith of citizens in the transparency of the elections and democracy.

Ismailov expressed confidence that the second round of the presidential election in Turkey will be transparent and democratically.

In Turkey, on May 14, the presidential elections and deputies of the Turkish parliament of the 28th convocation were held.

Three candidates participated in the first round of elections for the post of head of state – the current head of state, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, leader of the opposition republican People’s Party Kemal Kylychdaroglu and candidate from the Bloc “Alliance of Ata” Sanan Ogan.

May 28, the second round of the presidential election will be held, since none of the candidates gained more than 50 percent of the vote. Receps Tayyip Erdogan and Kemal Kylychdaroglu will participate in it.
