Deputy Defense of Turkey, Russia and Ukraine held working meeting on “grain corridor”

The Ministry of National Defense of Turkey reports that a meeting was held in Istanbul with the participation of Deputy Ministers of Defense of Turkey, Russia and Ukraine, as well as representatives of the United Nations (UN), which discussed the issue of extending the Black Sea Grain initiative.

The ministry’s statement says that Istanbul took place with a working meeting with the participation of Deputy Ministers of Defense of Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and UN officials.

Turkey at this meeting was represented by Deputy Minister of National Defense by UNIS Emre Karaosmanoglu.

Earlier, the Minister of National Defense of Turkey, Hulushi Akar, said that Turkey is the only country that in this situation can negotiate with Ukraine and Russia.

The head of the defense department attracted attention to the efforts of Ankara to prevent the global food crisis.

“Within the framework of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, signed on July 22 last year, 30 million tons of agricultural products have already been shipped from the ports of Ukraine. On May 10, a meeting began at the level of Deputy Ministers of Defense of Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, as well as representatives of the UN. We are attaching Efforts in order to maintain the effectiveness of [corridor] and ensure stability, ”said Akar.

The head of the Ministry of Defense noted the merits of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, under which Turkey has strengthened its authority in the international arena.

“Turkey is no longer a country listening to the position of others, but the state whose opinion takes into account. All our actions in the region and in the world as a whole are of particular interest,” said Acar.
