Deputy of parliament of Azerbaijan Ganira Pashayeva died

The deputy of the parliament (Milli Majlis) Azerbaijan, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Culture Ganir Pashayev, died.

Pashayeva was hospitalized on September 24 with a diagnosis of the hypotonic state of unknown origin.

The deputy was treated in the intensive care unit of the Central Clinical Hospital in Baku. Parliamentarian treatment also involved specialist doctors from Turkey.

Pashayeva was born on March 24, 1975 in the city of Tovuz, had two higher educations.

Ganira Pashaeva began professional career in 1998 on television, for a long time worked in the leading media structures of the country.

In 2005, she headed the press service of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. In the same year, she was first elected as a deputy of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan. Pashayeva was a deputy of the parliament of the third, fourth, fifth and sixth convocations.

Thanks to its professionalism, love for the Motherland and the desire to contribute to the development of society, Pashayeva gained high recognition not only in Azerbaijan, but also beyond its borders, in particular in Turkey.

Pashayeva took an active part in various events organized in Turkey. In its many articles, she always mentioned that “the power of Turkey is the power of the entire Turkic world.”

Pashayeva also for many years was a member of the working group Azerbaijan – Türkiye.

Since 2006, she was an active member of the Azerbaijani delegation at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. It was a member of the “Group of European Democrats” of the Council of Europe. She was a full member of the Committee on Equality and Ned Scrimination as well as the Committee on Migration, Refugees and Motive Persons, alternating member in the Committee on Political Issues and Democracy.
