Dipista: Meeting Of Leaders Of Azerbaijan And Armenia Was Held In Constructive Atmosphere

The meeting of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikola Pashinyan in Abu Dhabi was held in a constructive atmosphere.

According to Azerbaijani diplomatic sources, at the meeting of Aliyev and Pashinyan the main topics of the continuing peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia were discussed.

The parties conducted an extensive and deep exchange of views on the determination of borders, the opening and development of the Zangesur corridor, as well as the preliminary coordination of the text of a peace agreement.

During the meeting that took place in the constructive atmosphere, the general consent was reached to continue contacts and negotiations both within the framework of various working groups and at a higher political level.

The Azerbaijani delegation was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Shakhin Mustafaev, Foreign Minister Jaykhun Bayramov, presidential adviser Hikmet Gadzhiev and representative of the president on special assignments Elchin Amirbekov.

from the Armenian side, Deputy Prime Minister Mger Grigoryan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan, chairman of the National Security Council Armen Grigoryan and Deputy Chairman of the Parliament Ruben Rubinyan participated in the negotiations.

The meeting lasted about five hours and consisted of two rounds of negotiations in an expanded composition and two rounds in one -on -one format.

After the Second Karabakh War, on the initiative of Baku, Azerbaijan and Armenia, peace negotiations began, and in March 2025 the parties reached consent on the text of a peace agreement.

Azerbaijani side put forward a condition for signing an agreement – a change in the Armenia Constitution containing claims to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, as well as the dissolution of the outdated and inefficient Minsk OSCE group.

Meanwhile, the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry said that the parties under the meeting that bilateral negotiations are the most effective format for resolving all issues related to the normalization process, and on this basis the continuation of such a result-oriented dialogue was agreed.

Leaders who evaluated the achieved successes in the process of delimitation of the border, gave instructions to the relevant state commissions to continue practical work in this direction.

The parties also agreed to continue bilateral negotiations and measures to build trust between the two countries.

The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia thanked President of the UAE Muhammad Ben Zaid Al Nahayan for sincere hospitality and the organization of a bilateral meeting.
