On Monday, June 16, Tajikistan and China are first connected in history by direct air show, Tajik media said.
The new route launched by the China Southern Airlines airline was a significant step not only in the transport sector, but also in the deepening of strategic cooperation between the two countries.
Dasin Layner, who flew from the Beijing airport, landed in Dushanbe on Monday evening. Thus, between the two capitals, the first non -stop regular route was established, which did not exist even in the Soviet period.
The flight takes about 7 hours, and flights will now be executed twice a week – on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
It is expected that the route will become in demand not only among tourists, but also in the business environment.
“This is not just a new flight. This is a strengthening of trust, a signal to the deepening of humanitarian and economic ties,” said the director of the Civil Aviation Agency of Tajikistan Habibullo Nazarzoda in his speech.
According to representatives of China Southern, the opening of the line is part of a wider strategy aimed at expanding the presence of Chinese air carriers in Central Asia.
The new line was a logical continuation of the agreements reached during the state visit of the Chairman of China Xi Jinping in Dushanbe in July 2024. Earlier, in March of 2025, the delegation of the Aviation authorities of China visited Tajikistan, where the key parameters of cooperation were approved.
The Tajik side considers the development of international aviation as a strategic priority.
In recent years, the geography of flights has expanded; In 2025, from Dushanbe you can directly fly to Istanbul, Moscow, Tashkent, Dubai, Delhi, Almaty, Tehran.
