Doctors in Japan called on to cancel Olympics in Tokyo

“Cancellation of an event that can increase the incidence and death indicators, would have become the right decision,” the group of doctors says. They indicated that at present, “fight the fourth wave” Pandemic Coronavirus COVID-19, which, according to them, was the most powerful.

Association encourages organizers of games in Tokyo to consult with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in order to cancel the Olympiad.

Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games had to go through the summer of 2020, however, due to the coronavirus pandemic, they had to be transferred for this year. As a result, the Olympiad is scheduled for July 23 – August 8, paralympics – on August 24 – September 5.

In the meantime, the Japanese government intends to declare a state of emergency on Friday in connection with the spread of COVID-19 in the three prefectures of the country – Hokkaido, Okayama and Hiroshima – in the period from May 16 to 31. The government also intends to extend reinforced measures to combat COVID-19 into three other prefectures – Gumma, Isicawa and Kumamoto.
