US President Donald Trump, drawing attention to Turkey’s great contribution to the ceasefire process in Gaza, said: “President (Recep Tayyip) Erdogan personally took up the issue of Hamas and some other groups and did an excellent job.”
US President Trump, at a cabinet meeting in the White House, assessed the agreement reached in Gaza and the expected entry into force of the agreement truce.
Noting that the expected entry into force of the Gaza truce agreement is a historic event for peace in the Middle East, Trump expressed confidence that this agreement will bring peace to the region.
Specially thanking the countries that have made significant contributions to this process, primarily Turkey, Qatar and Egypt, Trump added: “I want to express Many thanks to the leaders of Turkey, Qatar and Egypt for helping us achieve this incredible result and supporting us.”
“President Erdogan personally dealt with the issues of Hamas and several other groups and did an excellent job,” he emphasized.
Declaring that they had put an end to the “war” in Gaza, and noting that the way had opened to large-scale peace, Trump noted: “I think this peace will be permanent, I hope it will last forever.”
The President added that he would travel to Egypt to sign a formal agreement. According to him, the prisoners will be released on Monday or Tuesday.
