Dubai discussed bilateral relations of Kyrgyz and UAE

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, as part of a working visit to Dubai, held negotiations with the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE Suheil al-Mazrui.

The parties discussed the issues of activating cooperation, in particular, in the trade, economic, investment and energy spheres.

Zhaparov noted that the UAE has advanced experience and initiatives in the fight against climate change and expressed confidence that the issues raised at the summit will soon give results.

He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to the development of friendly relations with the UAE. In this context, the president noted that the signing of a tripartite memorandum of mutual understanding between the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, Masdar and the French company Electrite de France will open very interesting prospects for cooperation in the field of hydropower.

Zhaparov also focused on the fact that it would be good to agree in detail and determine the joint projects that will be implemented in Kyrgyzstan.

The Head of State emphasized that Kyrgyzstan has a great energy potential, but today the percentage of the development of water -energy potential is only 13 percent.

In this regard, the president emphasized the need to widely use green technologies, introduce and develop renewable energy sources.

In turn, the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE in detail raised issues regarding the implementation of joint projects in the energy, hydropower and development of renewable energy sources, in particular, with the company “Masdar”.

At the same time, he emphasized the interest in the implementation of the planned plans as part of the signed memorandum with the Kyrgyz side as soon as possible. The minister added that the course of the implementation of projects will be at his personal control.

At the end, the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suheil al-Mazrui noted his country’s commitment to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in a wide range of areas.
