Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan confirmed the desire for bilateral cooperation and the expansion of interaction in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
On Monday, June 30, the Tajik Foreign Minister Sirodzhiddin Mukhriddin, as part of a visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, met with President Sadir Zhaparov. The parties discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, and emphasized the dynamics of the development of interstate relations, achieved thanks to the political will of the leaders of the two countries.
President Sadyr Zhaparov recalled that in March of this year a historical agreement on the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border was signed.
In this context, the Kyrgyz leader emphasized the importance of activating interregional connections and expanding practical interaction.
The head of the Tajik department, in turn, confirmed the readiness to build cooperation in all priority areas – in particular, in the areas of economics, trade, culture and security.
In addition, Mukhriddin met with the Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev. Negotiations were held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere.
The ministers discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral relations in detail, noted the growth of mutual turnover and expressed the desire for its further increase. Mutual interest in strengthening trust and sustainable partnership on a bilateral and regional basis is emphasized.
In addition, an exchange of views on topical issues of an international agenda took place. The coincidence of the positions of the two countries on a number of key topics was noted, including counteracting modern challenges and threats.
It is reported that the parties confirmed mutual readiness to deepen interaction within the framework of international and regional structures, such as the UN, SCO, CIS, CSTS and others.
