In the capital of Tajikistan, the first international textile forum and an exhibition of textile equipment that gathered representatives from more than 50 countries began work, the Hovar news agency reports.
The initiator of the forum was the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan with the support of the government of the republic.
The forum will become a platform for discussing relevant challenges and prospects for the textile industry, introducing innovative decisions, attracting investments and expanding international cooperation.
Particular attention is paid to cooperation between state structures, business and the scientific community.
The forum is associated with the implementation of the strategic tasks of the Tajik government to modernize and global integration of the textile industry. In particular, priority is given to the cluster approach: from growing cotton to the production of finished products.
The country has more than 500 textile sector enterprises, in which over 18 thousand people are occupied.
The forum program includes plenary meetings, industry discussions, demonstration of equipment and light industry products, as well as business meetings in B2B and G2B formats.
