Georgia and China will emphasize the development of economic between the two countries. This was told to the Anadolu agency, the former Foreign Minister of Georgia Irakli Menagarishvili, commenting on the conclusion of relations between Tbilisi and Beijing to the level of strategic partnership.

He noted that Georgia’s desire for membership in NATO and the EU is also spelled out in the Constitution of the country.

“Georgia needs a stronger economy to be an equal partner for NATO and the European Union. The further strengthening of relations with China serves to achieve this goal. The main axis of these relations will be the economy,” the former minister continued.

Menarishvili emphasized that China supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia.

At the same time, he emphasized that Georgia attaches particularly important importance to the development of relations and implementation of joint projects with neighboring Turkey and Azerbaijan.
