Egypt refused to purchase Ukrainian wheat

The Main Directorate of Egypt for the supply of goods (GASC) freed 240 thousand tons of wheat from obligations for shipments, which the Ukrainian companies Nibulon and INERCO Trade were supposed to carry out, Reuters reports with reference to sources.

According to the publication, four canceled wheat deliveries were purchased in December 2021. They did not have time to ship them before the start of the Russian war against Ukraine. Another batch of grain is expected to be sent from the port of Chernomorsk as part of a grain agreement. There was no clause on force majeure in the contract for the supply of grain.

It was previously reported that about 300 thousand tons of grain, which were supposed to put Egypt, were stuck due to the war in Ukraine.
