President of Egypt Abdelfatta al-Sisi expressed hope for a ceasefire in the gas sector “within a few days.”
“Egypt makes every effort to achieve a ceasefire in the gas sector and save the innocent civilians of the Gas sector from war disasters, which has been going on for more than 5 months,” said President Sisi, speaking at the Cairo Police Academy in the capital, reports, reports Official Egyptian news agency Mena.
“We hope that in the near future a ceasefire will be reached in Gaza,” said Sisi, warning of “the danger of the occupation of Rafach (south of the Gaza Sector) and the expansion of war”.
Sisi also stated that he was against blocking the supply of assistance in gas and called not to use food as a weapon against innocent civilians in the gas sector.
The President of Egypt added that thousands of tons of help are required daily.
