Emin Amrullaev about preschool education, raising teachers’ salaries and educational loans

“Currently, 32 percent of children aged 1 to 5 years are covered by preschool education. In the next 5 years, it is planned to increase this number to 50 percent. Further, 100 thousand children will be covered in such an education.” According to Haqqin.az, the Minister of Education Emin Amrullaev said about this at a briefing held today, dedicated to the “Strategy for the Socio-Economic Development of the Azerbaijan Republic on 2022-2026” and other issues.

According to the minister, the system of remuneration of teachers in Azerbaijan will be updated. The salary of teachers who passed the certification exam will be increased. By the end of the year, 137 thousand teachers will be certified. 68 thousand employees will be involved in the system of differentiated wages.

E. Amrullaev added that the number of schools in which the material and technical base has been updated is planned to be brought to 86 percent by 2026. It is also planned to increase the number of students accepted into professional educational institutions to 11 thousand people. The number of students with professional education in the Ministry of Education intends to bring to 10 thousand. It is assumed that 15 thousand people will be involved in a short -term qualification improvement.

The head of the department emphasized that this year about 10 thousand students will use educational loans.

“Last year, due to the pandemic, educational student loans were issued from the middle of the year and covered about 3 thousand students. It is expected that by the end of 2026 another 25 thousand students will receive student loans,” he said.

The Minister of Education expects that this year about 50 thousand people will receive the title of student, and about 10 thousand graduates will be admitted to the magistracy.
