The wife of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Emine Erdogan, visited the National Museum of Oman.
Erdogan, accompanying the president during his official visit to Muscat, included a visit to the museum in the program of her stay in the capital.
At the entrance to the museum, Emine Erdogan was met by the director of the institution, Zeinab al-Wuhaibi.
Having visited one of the main cultural centers of Oman, where over 7 thousand exhibits are presented, Emine Erdogan got acquainted with examples of cultural heritage, covering the period from the oldest traces of human presence on the Arabian Peninsula to the present day.
The First Lady toured the halls entitled “Earth and Man”, “History” Navigation”, “Weapons and Armour”, “Formation of Civilization” and “Chronology of Currencies”, where she was told about the exhibits on display.
“In Muscat, I visited the National Museum, which holistically reflects the history, maritime traditions, archaeological heritage and craft culture of Oman. With its architecture and unique exhibits, the museum is deeply reveals the national identity of the country. I wish that this rare space, carefully preserving cultural heritage, will become a source of inspiration for the future,” said Emine Erdogan in a publication on the Turkish social network NSosyal.
