Erdogan and Boris Johnson phoned

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. This is reported by Anadolu with reference to the statement of the Public Relations Office of the Administration of the President of Turkey.

According to the report, issues of trade, tourism, defense, agriculture, combating the COVID-19 pandemic, steps to improve bilateral relations, as well as regional topics were discussed.

President Erdogan noted that the Free Trade Agreement between the UK and Turkey represents a turning point in relations between the two countries, stressing that the steps taken will contribute to achieving bilateral trade volume of $ 20 billion.

President Erdogan noted that Ankara welcomes London’s efforts on the Cyprus issue and that if it is resolved on the basis of the coexistence of two states, there will be a “win-win situation” for the parties.
