Erdogan congratulated Azerbaijani people on Day of National Salvation

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated the Azerbaijani people on the day of national salvation, celebrated in the republic on June 15.

“I cordially congratulate all the brothers in friendly Azerbaijan on the Day of National Salvation. I convey hello and love of Turkey!”, The head of state says in Twitter.

To his publication, Erdogan added infographics with the flags of two fraternal countries.

Azerbaijan on Wednesday, June 15 celebrates the day of national salvation. Exactly 30 years ago, the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, returning to power, saved the Azerbaijani people, the state and the nation from the split.

In his speech at a meeting of the Milli Majlis on June 15, 1993, Heydar Aliyev announced a new strategy for the development of statehood of Azerbaijan.

This date went down in the history of Azerbaijan as a day of national salvation. On this day, at the request of the people, Heydar Aliyev returned to power for the second time and was elected chairman of the Supreme Council. Thus, the end of tension and confrontation in society was laid, the country was saved from the threat of a civil war and a split.
