This was stated by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking on Monday at the Center for the Center for the Aerospace Company Tusaş in the Kakhramanazan area in Ankara.
The latest developments of the Turkish military aircraft industry, including: Hürjet aircraft, ATAK-2 helicopter, ANKA-3 UAVs and a fifth-generation aircraft, were presented as part of the event.
According to Erdogan, the Fifth -General Turkish military aircraft was called “kaan”.
The President noted that in recent years, many major defense projects have been implemented in Turkey, and the Altay tank, the flagship of the Navy, the TCG Anadolu, the Gökbey, the TCG ALTAY, have been presented over the past weeks.
“Thanks to the 20 years of effort, the level of import substitution of Turkey in the defense sector reached 80 percent. However, we are not going to dwell on the achieved. New initiatives will follow,” he said.
