Presidential and parliamentary elections on May 14 in Turkey became a holiday of democracy. This was stated by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, addressing Monday night to fellow citizens who gathered at the central office of the ruling party of justice and development (PSR) in Ankara.
According to the Turkish leader, the preliminary results of the vote demonstrate a large gear of the PSR and its candidate for the presidency from other political forces of the country.
“The winner in the elections, regardless of the indicators, became Turkey and its people. The vote on May 14 became one of the most record in the reality in the history of the elected processes of our country. Throughout the political career, we showed respect for the will of the people. We express respect for the will of the people. the opinion of voters in the current elections and all subsequent elections. The difference in the votes is approximately 2.6 million in our favor. The final results will only increase this gap. Therefore, we still believe in the possibility of victory in the first round [presidential election]. If the people have made The choice in favor of the second round, we are ready to make this decision, ”said the Turkish leader.
Erdogan said that he was grateful to each of the 27 million voters who supported his candidacy in the presidential election. “At the same time, I am grateful to all 56 million voters who came to polling stations,” the politician emphasized.
President Erdogan noted that the elections to the Turkish parliament, even in the preliminary situation of forces, are indicated by the majority of the “Union of People”, which includes PSR.
