Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed condolences in connection with an armed attack during prayer in the Santa Maria Church in the Istanbul district of Saryer.
This is stated in the message of the Head of the Directorate for Relations under the Presidential Administration in social networks.
Altun noted that the head of state conducted telephone conversations with the head of the municipality of the Saryer district, Omer Kalaila, the priest of the Italian church of Santa Maria Anton Bulai and the general consul of Poland in Istanbul Vitold Lesnyak.
Erdogan said that all the necessary steps are being taken for the speedy capture of the perpetrators.
Altun also shared a video of the telephone conversations of President Erdogan.
The head of state expressed confidence that the offender would be caught soon.
