Erdogan on signing of final document on grain corridor

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan hopes that the final document to create a corridor for the supply of grain from Ukraine can be signed this week. He stated this upon returning from Tehran, where he took part in the Astana Troika summit, the Haber Turk newspaper reports.

“We want to complete this process by signing the agreement this week. We hope that the implementation of the plan will begin in the coming days. The process of [grain transportation] will be controlled from the coordination center in Istanbul, in the work of which, along with our country, representatives will participate Russia, Ukraine and the UN. We continue to make efforts to complete this process, which is vital for global food security, ”he said.

According to him, Russia positively evaluates Ankara’s efforts to resolve the Ukrainian crisis. “[Russian President Vladimir] Putin positively evaluates our efforts to resolve in Ukraine and even thanks us for this,” Erdogan noted.
