Ericsson will reduce another 1200 employees in Sweden

The Swedish manufacturer of telecommunication equipment Ericsson announced a reduction in about 1,200 employees due to a decrease in the volume of the order.

Ericsson will reduce the number of personnel as part of its plan to reduce global costs while maintaining critical investments, ”the company said.

The company noted that initiatives aimed at improving effective activities will continue throughout 2024. “As part of the current global initiatives, Ericsson will reduce about 1,200 employees in Sweden. The company began negotiations with trade unions,” the statement said.

The company noted that in 2024 a further decrease in orders is predicted due to a difficult situation in the market of mobile networks and customer caution.

Earlier, the company announced a reduction in about 8,500 people around the world in early 2023. Within the framework of these initiatives in Sweden, 1,400 employees were reduced.
