The Estonian side, “was involved in activities that were regarded as undermining the constitutional system and legal system, contributed to the split of the company” and, according to Tallinn, “participated in the actions that violate the sanctions regime.” It is unacceptable.
“The specified diplomat directly and actively participated in the undermining of the constitutional system and the legal system of Estonia, in the split of the Estonian society, contributed to the commission of state crimes, including a number of violations of the sanctions. At the moment, one citizen of the Estonian Republic was convicted of these crimes,” the minister’s statement. The expulsion is a “clear signal” that in Estonia there will be no place for coordinated and organized actions of a foreign state.
The department clarified that the decision was made on the basis of Article 9 of the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations, which allows the state of being declared a diplomatic employee by Persona Non Grat.
