Estonian Ministry of Defense: Without Western help, Kyiv risks losing position by end of spring

Ukraine already in May-June risks not to keep the current front line if help does not receive.

This is the eve of the meeting of EU leaders on the allocation of 50 billion euros by Estonia, Minister of Defense Estonia Hanno Pevurkur, the National Television and Production Company Estonia Err.

The head of the defense department is convinced that without the money of the West, Kyiv risks losing his position at the front in late spring.

“If we have no solution by that time, then it will probably be extremely difficult for Ukraine to keep its positions. Because, as we know, Russia is not worried about its losses. We have seen it many times,” the minister said.

On Thursday, the leaders of the EU countries will again discuss the allocation of financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 50 billion euros. Previously, this decision was blocked by Hungary.

In the publication on the social network, X Pevurkh noted that the Ramstein group will gather tomorrow to discuss the next steps of assistance to Ukraine.

“We are talking about the will, about the desire to help and the desire to protect,” the minister wrote, adding #kaitseetahe Tag, which means “will to defense.”

The head of the Ministry of Defense attached a picture to the publication, in which he himself, on the right, is the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky in T-shirts with the inscription Kaitsetahe on the left.

In early January, Estonian Prime Minister Kai Kallas presented to the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky sweatshirt with the inscription Kaitsetahe.

“This sweatshirt was given to me by Madame Prime Minister. She said that the meaning of the word – kaitseetahe – this meaning united you all, many Estonians. And what is written here is what is captured in the heart of many Ukrainians: will To defense. Kaitsetahe. And I’m sure that the day will certainly come when we can all unite with another meaning: võidutahe is the will to win, ”Zelensky said.

On Thursday, February 1, the leaders of the EU countries will again discuss the allocation of financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 50 billion euros. Previously, this decision was blocked by Hungary.
