Ethiopia detained at least nine UN staff

at least 9 UN staff and their family members are detained in the capital of Ethiopia Addis Ababa, RIA Novosti reports.

It is noted that the Department of Safety Organization and the relevant staff of the UN Security Service visited detainees. Verbal notes were also sent to the Foreign Ministry as a request for immediate release of detainee employees.

earlier, Ethiopian media reported that the Chamber of People’s Representatives of Ethiopia (Lower Chamber of Parliament) approved the regime of an emergency in the entire country to protect the population from the rebels. The emergency mode will be valid half a year.

North of Ethiopia is located in the epicenter of the conflict since November 2020.
