EU Ambassador to EU in Sudan continues its mission

The Ambassador of the European Union (EU) has been attacked in Sudan feels good and continues to fulfill its duties.

The EU reported that the European Union ambassador to Sudan Irish diplomat Aidan O’Hara did not receive serious injuries when attacking the European Union residence in Khartum.

“Contrary to the fact that the Ambassador of O’Hara has not received serious injuries, the attack is a serious violation of the Vienna Convention, which obliges the countries to protect the diplomats,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ireland, Michael Martin, whose words are given by European media.

The Foreign Ministry of Ireland reported that they are in constant contact with O’Hara Ambassador.

EU officials said that following the analysis of the situation in Khartom, it was decided to abandon the evacuation of the mission. The ambassador continues to fulfill its duties, noted in Brussels.

Earlier, EU Supreme EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrel, said that the EU ambassador in Sudan was attacked in his residence.
