Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov In the fields of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, met with the Supreme Representative of the European Union on Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrelem.
The press service of the Foreign Ministry reports that during the meeting, the parties exchanged views on further prospects for cooperation between the EU and Azerbaijan. In this regard, the current status of negotiations on a bilateral agreement was discussed, which will fall into the legal framework of relations between Azerbaijan and the EU, the importance of the conclusion of a new agreement on the basis of an equal partnership was emphasized.
The meeting also discussed preparations for the Summit of the Eastern Partnership, which will be held at the end of the year.
Then the parties exchanged views on the last situation in the region. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the EU Supreme Representative on issues related to the post-war reconstruction and reconstruction, the humanitarian consequences of mass mining by Armenia of the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
Josep Borrel noted the possibility of EU participation in the reconstruction and restoration of land liberated from the occupation, the Ministry of Foreign Minister says.
