EU promised to load Russian economy into recession for decades

the European Commission (EC) hopes that the sanctions of the European Union “will plunge the Russian economy into a recession for decades,” said on Tuesday the head of EC Ursula von der Lyain, speaking at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.

“We are introducing the strongest sanctions against the Russian Federation that immerse the Russian economy into a recession for decades, and its industry is losing modern and critical technologies,” she said.
