EU to revise Association Agreement with Ukraine

The European Union is going to revise the Association Agreement with Ukraine in 2021. This was stated by the President of the European Council Charles Michel, with reference to the Ukrainian press reports TASS.

According to him, the revision will be completed this year. “Next year, together with the Ukrainian authorities, we will make a decision on how to develop and strengthen the partnership,” Michel said.

The fact that the revision process has already begun was announced in February by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal.

The Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union was signed in 2014, but it did not come into force immediately, since this required the approval of all EU member states. In 2017, the last remaining state, the Netherlands, ratified the document.
