The Eurasian Tunnel, connecting the Asian and European units of Istanbul, took advantage of the record 85,437 vehicles. This was announced on Monday by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey Adil Karaismailille.
The head of the Ministry of Transport of Turkey called this indicator the result of timely and thoughtful investments in the country’s infrastructure.
Karaismaillla recalled that the tunnel built under the Istanbul Strait (Bosphorus) opened in December 2016, significantly reducing the load on the traffic system of the metropolis.
The head of the Ministry of Transport noted that thanks to the “Eurasian tunnel” the path between Asia and Europe decreased to five kilometers and travel time – to 5 minutes.
