European Union allocated € 17 billion to help refugees from Ukraine

EU countries will spend 17 billion euros to support Ukrainian refugees, reported on the European Council website.

The European Council adopted legislative amendments that allow Member States to redirect resources from the funds of the cohesion policy and the European Aid Fund of the most disadvantaged (FEAD) to help Ukrainian refugees.

“The rapid change in the EU Foundations legislation is a clear statement about the consistent solidarity of the EU with refugees from Ukraine and their member states, in particular with those bordering Ukraine,” the statement says.
