European Union granted Georgia status of candidate

The European Union (EU) granted Georgia the candidate’s status and decided to start negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova on joining the EU.

The Chairman of the EU Council Charles Michelle said on the social network X that the European Union decided to provide Georgia with the status of a candidate and plans to start negotiations on the entry into the EU and Ukraine and Moldova.

Michelle also stated that negotiations will also be conducted with Bosnia and Herzegovina if the necessary membership criteria are observed.
