European Union has expanded sanctions against Iran

The Council of the European Union accepted decided to extend the restrictive measures against Iran in force in connection with human rights violations per year – until April 13, 2022. This is stated in the Council’s statement, on the cat Ore refers to Interfax.

In addition, the EU Council added eight individuals and three companies in the sanctions list in connection with their involvement in the suppression of demonstrations in Iran in 2019. In total, 89 persons and four companies are currently indicated in this list.

Active restrictive measures include a ban for persons who have fallen under sanctions to enter into EU countries, as well as the freezing of assets of these individuals and organizations.
