Europol announced smuggling of weapons from Ukraine to European Union

The EU police service reported cases of Ukrainian weapons in the Black Market, writes Deutsche Welle with reference to official sources.

According to Europol, weapons are wandering across the border Ukrainian refugees. Criminal networks are engaged in smuggling “a significant number of firearms and ammunition” from Ukraine to the countries of the European Union, the Europol’s confidential report said. The report contains information on the consequences of war in Ukraine and terrorist threats for the European Union.

Europol knows cases when individuals tried to leave Ukraine with firearms. Law enforcement officers also suggest that caches were created along the Ukrainian border with the EU to organize smuggling.
