Ex-Prime Minister of Pakistan Khan sentenced to 10 years in prison

The court in Pakistan sentenced the former Prime Minister of Imran Khan and ex-foreign minister Shah Mahmud Kureshi to 10 years in prison in the case of disclosure of state secrets.

According to local media, judge Abul Hasnat Zulkarnin orally handed over the court decision to the khan and Kureshi, which is contained in the prison of the adial of the Adiala in Ravalpindi.

The representative of the Pakistan Justice Party (PTI) Sayed Zulkifar Bukhari said that PTI members will appeal to the highest instance court regarding sentences to the Khan and Kureshi.

Khan was arrested on August 5, 2023

The former Prime Minister Imran Khan was detained by the police and sent to prison on August 5, 2023 after the order of the warrant on the arrest in the case of corruption.

On August 29, the court in Pakistan suspended the sentence of a three -year imprisonment in relation to the khan, decided to release him on bail. However, on August 30, Khan was again taken into custody on charges of “disclosing state secrets.”

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmoud Kureshi was captured in his house in Islamabad on August 19, 2023 and sent to prison for the same reason.
