Export of fish and aquacultures from Turkey in 2022 exceeded $ 1.5 billion

The volume of exports of fish, other seafood and watercolor products from Turkey in 2022 exceeded $ 1.5 billion.

As Anadol reports with reference to the Institute of Statistics of Turkey (Tüi̇k), Turkey continues to increase the export of fish, crustaceans, mollusks and other types of aquaculture products.

So, in 2018, the export of fish and aquacultures from Turkey amounted to 879 million 590 thousand dollars, 2019- 962 million 233 thousand dollars, 2020- 1 billion 8 million 993 thousand dollars and 2021- 1 billion 294 million 358 thousand dollars.

The volume of fish and seafood exports in 2022 increased by 75 percent compared to 5 years earlier – up to 1 billion 540 million 27 thousand dollars, thus, thus, thus $ 1.5 billion.

The total export of fish, seafood and aquacultures for the 5-year period amounted to 5 billion 685 million 201 thousand dollars.

The leading importer of fish products, other seafood and aquacultures from Turkey became Russia with 296 million 793 thousand dollars. The following is Italy – 166 million 676 thousand dollars, Great Britain – 157 million 758 thousand dollars and the Netherlands – 137 million 364 thousand dollars.

Despite the increase in the volume of exports of aquaculture products over the 5-year period, the import of these products demonstrated the fluctuation.

So, in 2018, the import of these products amounted to 184 million $ 809 thousand, while in subsequent years – 182 million 114 thousand dollars, 143 million 104 thousand dollars and 201 million 786 thousand dollars, respectively.

Last year, the import of these products reached the highest level over the past 5 years, reaching 294 million 479 thousand dollars.

The total volume of import of products for the entire period under consideration amounted to about 1 billion 6 million 292 thousand dollars.

Norway became the leading supplier of fish and other seafood to Turkey with 88 million 628 thousand dollars. This is followed by Malaysia and Morocco.
