The volume of exports from Turkey to Syria for the first four months of 2025 amounted to 669 million 661 thousand dollars. This was reported in the Union of Exporters of the Southeast Anatolia (Gai̇b).
According to the Union, export to Syria in January-April increased by 36.7 % compared to the same period of 2024, when the volume of supplies was 489 million 837 thousand dollars.
In particular, in April 2025, export volume increased by 57.6 % compared to the same month of last year and amounted to 162 million 109 thousand dollars.
Chairman of the Association of Exporters of Grain, Beans, Oil Cultures and Southeast Anatolia products, as well as the representative of the Syrian branch of the Turkish exporters (TİM) Assembly, Jalal Cadoglu noted that the business circles have positively perceived the steps of the European Union to mitigate Syria against Syria, adopted after the same US actions.
“This opens up important opportunities not only for the restoration of Syria, but also to strengthen the economic and diplomatic role of Turkey in the region,” he stressed.
According to Kadoglu, the abolition of sanctions will be a historical turning point for the Syrian economy.
“We are sure that the multidimensional and constructive diplomacy that Turkey leads from the very beginning will give tangible results. As international restrictions are softened, we will see the resumption of trade flows and strengthen the atmosphere of confidence in the markets,” he added.
The head of the association also noted that Turkish companies, possessing logistics and regional advantages, are ready to become natural partners in the process of restoration of Syria.
“The growth of trade between Turkey and Syria will contribute not only to the development of trade, but also to the deepening of diplomatic ties,” concluded Cadoglu.
