According to information, in 2024, the total value of pistachio exports amounted to 229 million 777 thousand dollars, and supplies were carried out to 96 countries.

Revenue from pistachio exports in the period from January to September 2024 was 144 million 88 thousand dollars, while for the same period of the current year this figure increased by 5.92% – to 152 million 622 thousand dollars.

Italy became the leading importer of Turkish pistachios for January-September 2025. Türkiye exported products worth 52 million 299 thousand dollars to this country. Next comes Germany 24 million 791 thousand dollars and Kazakhstan – 9 million 390 thousand dollars.

Export indicators continue to grow

In a conversation with an Anadolu correspondent, the head of the National Union of Pistachio Producers of Turkey Faruk Akbash said that the steady growth in exports observed since the beginning of the year continued in the first nine months, which is “a very encouraging indicator.”

He noted that farmers go through a long and labor-intensive journey from cultivation to harvest, and therefore it is important that products are valued on international markets.

According to Akbash, despite this year being considered a “low harvest year” for producers, exports are showing positive dynamics.

“Turkish pistachios stand out in the world market due to their unique aroma, high oil content and excellent quality. They are especially in demand in the chocolate and confectionery industries. The fact that we grow the pistachios that the world market prefers makes our exports continue to be strong,” he said he.

Akbash noted that the goal of producers is to maximize export potential in order to increase the incomes of farmers and exporters, as well as strengthen the country’s economy through foreign exchange earnings.

“We are working to expand sales markets and grow export volumes in order to achieve even higher results by the end of the year,” he added.
