Extreme heat in Europe

In Spain, record heat has been established, similar to which has not been observed since 1950. In the Andalusian city of Anduhar, the temperature record of this year was recorded: on Friday, June 17, thermometers showed there from 44.2 to 44.3 degrees.

On the morning of Saturday, beaches on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, according to media reports, were crowded. Even at night, the air temperature in many regions of Spain has recently not dropped below 20 degrees. Due to the extreme heat in the country, forest fires became more frequent.

Extreme heat this weekend was established in France. According to Météo France, “absolute temperature records can be broken,” which is a “really extreme situation.”

In some regions of Germany, more than 34 degrees are expected this weekend. The German weather service (DWD) also warns of an increased level of ultraviolet radiation.

At the same time, it rains in many regions of Greece.
