Today, 114 police officers and military personnel of the internal troops were killed in the performance of official duties, 2792 were injured, the Minister of Internal Affairs said Colonel General Vila Aivazov, speaking at a ceremony dedicated to the Azerbaijani Police Day.
According to the minister, over the past 19 years, more than 23 thousand criminal groups and gangs have been neutralized. About 18 thousand units of illegally stored firearms were seized, the number of illegal actions committed with its use was significantly reduced. The disclosure of an average of 84 percent of the crimes was ensured, more than 62 thousand announced the wanted list were detained, about 17 tons of narcotic drugs were seized from illegal turnover.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs also noted that the police and internal troops with professionalism continue their service in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
