Facebook allowed citizens of Azerbaijan to call for violence against Russian soldiers

Meta (Maternal Facebook and Instagram company) allowed residents of some countries to call for violence against Russian soldiers. This rule is valid exclusively when the report talks about the invasion of Ukraine, writes Reuters with reference to internal emails about temporary change in hatred incitement policies.

In particular, the innovation will be valid for residents of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia and Ukraine. The company stated that it would not extend to Russian prisoners of war, writes “Medusa”.

META will also allow the “praise” Ukrainian battalion “Azov”, which is usually forbidden, the agency notes. The representative of Joe Osborne earlier stated that such posts were allowed “strictly in the context of the protection of Ukraine or in their role in the national guard of Ukraine.”

At the same time, press secretary Meta Andy Stone assured that Facebook and Instagram will not call for violence against Russian civilians. The company confirmed that in some countries calls for violence against Russian soldiers will not be blocked.
