France’s striker and Madrid “Real” Karim Benzema is recognized as guilty of chamber of the midfielder “Olympiacos” Mathiere Valbuen and sentenced to the year of imprisonment conditionally and fine in the amount of € 75 thousand, reports RMC Sport.
It is noted that in 2015 Benzema became the participant of Chardazh Valbuen. The ex-player “Dynamo” threatened to publish a video of an intimate character with his participation, if he does not pay them.
During the investigation, it became known that Benzema, who was friends for a long time in Valbuen was an intermediary and incited the France team partner to pay for blackmail. Because of the scandal, both players were excluded from the national team and missed Euro 2016.
Benzema’s defense does not agree with the verdict and will appeal.
