Youth and Sports Minister Farid Gaibov was recognized as the best sports figure of the year according to a survey conducted by the Center for Sports Research (IAM).
The survey was attended by representatives of 54 media of Azerbaijan, including Haqqin.az.
During his speech, Farid Gaibov said:
“For several years now Iam has been awarded the best. A few days later and the Ministry of Youth and Sports will hold its ceremony.
Honestly, it was amazing me that they chose me. Because I am the Minister of Sports, and this is my job. To be honest, I did not even want to come to the award (smiles). But then they told me that this is the choice of journalists. Thanks to the media representatives who took part in this survey, but more, please do not choose me (smiles). It’s hard for me to take such awards. I, like all employees of the Ministry of Sports, do my job. “
